Affiliate Marketing, What you should know.

Everyday on the internet we see articles and sites on affiliate marketing but a lot of people don even know what it meams or what it is about.

Affiliate Marketing is an online venture that involves revenue sharing between advertisers/merchants and publishers/salespeople, whereby a form of payment refered to as compensation is paid to the publsher by the merchant based on some form of performance measure which could be in the form of clickings ads, purchasing a product, registration, filling out a form. it can also be refered to as CPA advertising.

Affiliate Marketing started in 1996 by Amazon.com when it launched it associate program. It startrd like this, a website owner registers with Amazon and puts text or banner links, and products on her site. When a visitor clicks the link and purchases a product, the website owner is paid a commission for generating the sale

There are there different ways you can earn money through Affiliate Marketing, they are

Pay Per Click: This is a situation whereby a potential customer clicks on a link in an affiliate website which leads to the merchant website. The owner of the affiliate website gets a commission for that click for example Google Adsense.

Pay Per Lead: A commision is paid to an affiliate when a potential customer registers at the merchant site as a result of advertising in the affiliate site e.g. Cpahotshot.

Pay Per Sale: This is when a sale is made from an affiliate website by a potential customer which could be from a link that has been clicked or advertising. The affiliate gets a commision as in the case of Clickbank.

Affiliate marketing has been know to be one of the best ways to make money online because it is easy to start up and does not take to long to learn. The internet is all about information and people look for information everyday, thus it is not unusal for people to purchase goods and services online if they know it would be of benefit to them. Once you have a good form of advertising, the sky is your limit.
